In addition to posting about decorating my humble cottage, you might see postings about sewing, quilting, embroidery by hand, cooking, and more often, my adventures in working with wool...on the loom, the spinning wheel, and on the needles. I hope you enjoy your visit and that you find something to spark your creativity.LadyVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18385463519591180101noreply@blogger.comBlogger60125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5715326599338108069.post-91348234319834119022015-05-26T17:12:00.000-04:002015-05-26T17:12:17.964-04:00It's Canning Season!It's time to visit farmer's markets, go berry picking, and enjoy all the fruits and vegetables that you have been missing throughout the winter months. The season is short so you'll have to be quick and gather up your bounty and prepare and preserve it to extend the enjoyment of all those wonderful flavors...that means canning or freezing if you prefer.<br />
<br />
I am no expert when it comes to canning so this post is not a "how to" for "putting food by". I read all that I can find on the subject and listen carefully to those who wish to share their expertise with me, then I set about putting what I learn into practice. I enjoy the process, literally.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgmuJF5GIbFBjUg2HUHoJIXw2VadLtCXfsjOgV7VsLDuggNroHFn3oG5Chhjy44VNnsq1Q6r2TWjpzocAEv67nA7OXVqUQQ8a4BIBHYopQa9zkKAoW_eV8622acYhXIFoHusJ3cGJnFNkq/s1600/strawberry1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="496" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgmuJF5GIbFBjUg2HUHoJIXw2VadLtCXfsjOgV7VsLDuggNroHFn3oG5Chhjy44VNnsq1Q6r2TWjpzocAEv67nA7OXVqUQQ8a4BIBHYopQa9zkKAoW_eV8622acYhXIFoHusJ3cGJnFNkq/s640/strawberry1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
With all the necessary tools in place, I start my canning season with one of my favorite fruits...Strawberries. I wash, cut the stems off, and plop them in my food processor and pulse just to the consistency that I like. They are then placed in a handy dandy little contraption that I just this Spring found out about, its the <a href="http://www.freshtechjammaker.com/" target="_blank">Jam and Jelly Maker by Ball</a>, I use my favorite recipe and in 21 minutes I have jam that is ready to be processed in my water bath canner. 10 minutes later, I have summer in a jar...so good, especially in my yogurt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpJkFqXZG15JMlFo5RNH5e7nZTMDeT9jyhchyuvodDNaHMooV_vuNCbrAQwzZmkItFCGtd8gDlAfx36TpJ4keddckRLtUfyVQ8_aty7kg8yN0Z_sxYUbGew7NHoe9yKMEfPfmpOGSHSuCT/s1600/strawberry2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="460" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpJkFqXZG15JMlFo5RNH5e7nZTMDeT9jyhchyuvodDNaHMooV_vuNCbrAQwzZmkItFCGtd8gDlAfx36TpJ4keddckRLtUfyVQ8_aty7kg8yN0Z_sxYUbGew7NHoe9yKMEfPfmpOGSHSuCT/s640/strawberry2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I hope you are enjoying the season and will take a couple of hours out of your day to bring the time honored tradition of canning/preserving to your kitchen.<br />
<br />
Blessings,<br />

<br />
When I go to the grocer/market, I spend a great deal of time shopping the produce isles. I really love seeing all of the textures and the variety of vegetables available. I plan our meals around what's in season. Spring time is especially wonderful, not for just the in season produce, but also for the anticipation of the bounty to come. Vegetables make up a large portion of our daily meals but my favorite way to enjoy them quickly without a lot of prep, is to make big salads.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibgd2MunAfZPnxzuQGfjdSEzmo8WhxS1df8y4EW7xgTcU52ALxVzTsj8unGz0u3cBpznSTZMtOctcI3xVcpYFGOL766eKDAAUmZ7NsCJ2ScP40kL5Ogj9bXKDCVrKAMlRGa7-C4-0GE7-J/s1600/salad1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibgd2MunAfZPnxzuQGfjdSEzmo8WhxS1df8y4EW7xgTcU52ALxVzTsj8unGz0u3cBpznSTZMtOctcI3xVcpYFGOL766eKDAAUmZ7NsCJ2ScP40kL5Ogj9bXKDCVrKAMlRGa7-C4-0GE7-J/s1600/salad1.jpg" height="478" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Add a little protein of choice and a favorite dressing ( I LOVE <a href="http://montebellokitchens.com/" target="_blank">Montebello Kitchens</a> oil free dressings) and I have a light and delicious lunch.<br />
<br />
What's in it?<br />
<br />
Green Leaf Lettuce<br />
Red Leaf Lettuce<br />
Radish<br />
Raw Carrots<br />
Cucumber<br />
Cherry Tomatoes<br />
Albacore Tuna<br />
Seasoned with Herbes Provence, cracked pepper<br />
Sprinkling of Hemp Seeds<br />
(all veggies are organic and tuna is wild caught)<br />
Dressing is Montebello Kitchens Fig Balsamic<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and always keep the "healthy" in your refrigerator.<br />

Time really does move swiftly. The challenge is always in the management of time and how to marry all the things that I want to do with all of the things that I need to do. I fall short quite often, but, I have learned to take it all in stride and at the end of the day...It's all right with me.<br />
<br />
So, I shall get right to it. I have been living and loving life since my last post to this blog of mine. I have lots to share and I have decided that my blog will feature a variety of things that I love. To begin, I love food. Healthy, vibrant, flavorful food...Real food.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWsFv2O9eY-m6jlD5Bu_peF0BZGL-Las6C9zXj3tls3_DXIrxdP9mfRP-iI1WChf_R-fiORGKopBHHnj9eApfMP5WRQ-Rx3PChziMyZxfetX0-DNhJlIVJnveRQ4aI9kfNuzpel2ke2Yue/s1600/IMG_2360.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWsFv2O9eY-m6jlD5Bu_peF0BZGL-Las6C9zXj3tls3_DXIrxdP9mfRP-iI1WChf_R-fiORGKopBHHnj9eApfMP5WRQ-Rx3PChziMyZxfetX0-DNhJlIVJnveRQ4aI9kfNuzpel2ke2Yue/s1600/IMG_2360.JPG" height="484" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I have adopted a whole food/unprocessed food lifestyle. Other than the blueberries, there is nothing "low fat" in this little glass dish. There's plenty of "good" fats. (there was a time when I would have never said that let alone put it in writing). Although this post features grain free granola, I am limiting (not eliminating) the amount of grains in my diet. I feel that eating some grains are good for me and I do soak/sprout them prior to cooking or eating. Here's a favorite afternoon snack. It keeps me satiated until dinner, and that's a good thing.<br />
<br />
What's in it?<br />
<br />
Wallaby Whole Milk Vanilla Yogurt<br />
Raw Walnuts (soaked of course)<br />
Larabar Renola (grain free)<br />
Blueberries<br />
<br />
I also love pretty china and table settings. The glass dish is from Home Goods. The spoon is Rogers & Son Champagne silver plate. The quilted table cloth was made by me from various blue and white fabrics found in my stash. It was a first attempt at playing with my mid arm quilting machine. More on that later.<br />
<br />
Thank you for visiting and reading my first post in a very long time. It is short and sweet (literally) as I have a bit of updating to do with Thistle Creek Cottage so please do come back to see how it's coming along.<br />

So exciting! It's the Stitch Me Up blog hop hosted by Mdm Samm, <a href="http://sewwequilt.com/" target="_blank">Sew We Quilt</a>, and Jane, <a href="http://janesfabrics.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Jane's Fabrics</a>. Thank you both for putting together a fun hop and such a great source of inspiration. Everyone's creations are just lovely. You all are so very talented.<br />
<br />
For this hop we were provided wonderful designs to choose from. The designs were created by Cyndi from <a href="http://beetreedesigns.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Stitch, Stitch, Stitch</a>, and Debbie from <a href="http://busyascanbe.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Busy as can Be</a>. The sponsors are Colonial needle and Presencia Threads. I chose to stitch Bee Tree Designs, Elements, it has such a vintage look to me. I love vintage
embroidered linens and display them around my home. This sweet design provided the perfect opportunity to stitch a
Spring runner for my Easter table. I used a pastel palette of presencia finca size 12 perle cotton and colonial needles for all of my embroidery. <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpbc6Ve6ZKPo_KrMhpqgQmLpgYbWQwT-um-fcQuOmp6hS8xZ7B2gdoAv01zFCoPYwaURlzq_gpGk1z2pk328t_QN1idyugQgf4C21DifFvgT2Pl37HNNGNXHiVpEdLrS-zsU7DGpwJMY1G/s1600/springrunnerclose.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpbc6Ve6ZKPo_KrMhpqgQmLpgYbWQwT-um-fcQuOmp6hS8xZ7B2gdoAv01zFCoPYwaURlzq_gpGk1z2pk328t_QN1idyugQgf4C21DifFvgT2Pl37HNNGNXHiVpEdLrS-zsU7DGpwJMY1G/s640/springrunnerclose.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the simplicity of this design and the way it flows so I shaped the corners of my runner to enhance the look. The fabric is 100% linen backed with white Kona Cotton. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ux6ob2hqtCaGw-xqCingcqBIWvxAOT5rvYpQPbGbf8BVkOHmr8qO35A_xG1g-iWAntAtRrvIVzREaQ8-BuGORrw8dqmW2GS4daZCNAdbnLqAI12ZVHEIOaRDv0kk04KseWCJtWBAkQhg/s1600/springrunnerfull.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ux6ob2hqtCaGw-xqCingcqBIWvxAOT5rvYpQPbGbf8BVkOHmr8qO35A_xG1g-iWAntAtRrvIVzREaQ8-BuGORrw8dqmW2GS4daZCNAdbnLqAI12ZVHEIOaRDv0kk04KseWCJtWBAkQhg/s640/springrunnerfull.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I made a generously sized runner so that I could place my table decorations on it without covering up or obscuring the embroidery.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'm stitching it on 28 ct. Cashel Platinum linen using the suggested dmc floss colours. It's quite a large sampler but not as large as my last one which was Needle Print's reproduction sampler Mary Peacock...She should be home from the framer this weekend. I'll be happy to finally get that one on the wall.<br />

I'm so ready for Spring and warmer weather. There have been many overcast days. A little more sunshine to enjoy would be wonderful. Let's see if I can brighten things up a bit. How about a sweet cross stitch for the tea room.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Maybe start gathering my Easter table decorations. Not quite sure which china I'll use but I am sure this bunny pitcher will be the center piece.<br />

The bird feeders had not been filled yet and all my feathered friends were left to fend for themselves and find cover within the conifers. Must change that!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzBgrlzDq27fhaFXtmvqnLmoQSnTxUKnTNaC5B-86k9pt7qju87o8GZA35kGQuRHg5Sb_zDvZRQnwyTtVgFwIutnOMVGSKDAc-BSWglako-BOtbKhHxrdwwYvKQPpNYOB4QS2Y7KRRfB2G/s1600/coldwindblows2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="523" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzBgrlzDq27fhaFXtmvqnLmoQSnTxUKnTNaC5B-86k9pt7qju87o8GZA35kGQuRHg5Sb_zDvZRQnwyTtVgFwIutnOMVGSKDAc-BSWglako-BOtbKhHxrdwwYvKQPpNYOB4QS2Y7KRRfB2G/s640/coldwindblows2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Conditions are much better for them today. The feeders are filled, they're happy, and so are we as we watch them while enjoying tea and scones.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSVj02VzZcet4O1a5aAzU7DGUPoWyQ7xSH0UBM63DefWk9PN3-NVXSrtkEuO9XBrlN-0qEc4trqxn4sce7cd3IMTZjP2_8jpQDQFL1zT7dz9RMQbw9bRt6ZLDE7I8HUtRj_x-VPRKJBnpu/s1600/scones.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="476" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSVj02VzZcet4O1a5aAzU7DGUPoWyQ7xSH0UBM63DefWk9PN3-NVXSrtkEuO9XBrlN-0qEc4trqxn4sce7cd3IMTZjP2_8jpQDQFL1zT7dz9RMQbw9bRt6ZLDE7I8HUtRj_x-VPRKJBnpu/s640/scones.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Now, instead of the lemon curd, I have lemon glaze on mine, since becoming vegan, butter is not an option. <br />

Painting.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy7Czb9BqCu0aOixCdAt7uMdwgdnQVgJZpgqpkpz9ewLIgIhp9WbXRZVJlq4gnnHxy6MS8cFEirhliEQIZXpYG_P7g3C_w2kToafmiG8ZrXg5G29bUAwhnThepiPgUMJbRRv6qYN3Z2OKt/s1600/furnitureredo1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="574" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy7Czb9BqCu0aOixCdAt7uMdwgdnQVgJZpgqpkpz9ewLIgIhp9WbXRZVJlq4gnnHxy6MS8cFEirhliEQIZXpYG_P7g3C_w2kToafmiG8ZrXg5G29bUAwhnThepiPgUMJbRRv6qYN3Z2OKt/s640/furnitureredo1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When my computer quit on me, I found myself with more time (Imagine that). I decided that maybe this would be a great time to update my kitchen. I also wanted to try my hand at painting with chalk paint. There was a lonely little cupboard sitting in my garage all covered with "everything". I painted it antique white, distressed it a bit, and here's the result.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2FeG-9lE-sH-OZfyhmaseapUFwXChNEsm1P6AUHMnukCSKTX8eKSNYK6ut1-8NlfK7AMMGENLBn5lEXldRf30_UqzYKL9ZMmRS6p8XlmR3-QQFo65q7iz8IvY1oXrJ3vtABiGceRahGpw/s1600/kitchenredo3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="534" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2FeG-9lE-sH-OZfyhmaseapUFwXChNEsm1P6AUHMnukCSKTX8eKSNYK6ut1-8NlfK7AMMGENLBn5lEXldRf30_UqzYKL9ZMmRS6p8XlmR3-QQFo65q7iz8IvY1oXrJ3vtABiGceRahGpw/s640/kitchenredo3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally a place for my antique ironstone. I was now in full fledged painting mode. I decided to paint the small towel holder on the other side of the kitchen.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Over the summer and in between paint strokes, you could find me stitching.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzm12VrcEZXxjFYEchI-60MfwUzDOMc4wKmbIaNZ3pQvFJwZzDyTyHPAnQ6mQFTuyKb-ceBIx-EoZb_m9ASOxjIyVZkMTnsJ7x85hGOBCIxvh2H3x7U1IkUSx_8sLrIJJikBTlLojGKzu0/s1600/stitchingcorner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzm12VrcEZXxjFYEchI-60MfwUzDOMc4wKmbIaNZ3pQvFJwZzDyTyHPAnQ6mQFTuyKb-ceBIx-EoZb_m9ASOxjIyVZkMTnsJ7x85hGOBCIxvh2H3x7U1IkUSx_8sLrIJJikBTlLojGKzu0/s640/stitchingcorner.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the "start" with a looooong way to the finish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguTTH-dYxM6QsKHG_nSwlQpzSeQNZidoQMuqXnpMvGfBdCoZXPLP7cHjpnf9NqA7MeiPKmXvEOKaXPdtc5y6hfua7s8JrXD0eJy4kRK1pT9i_728MmUyWI9yqjfLiGNRq8JxEsmF_W67_N/s1600/marypeacock2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguTTH-dYxM6QsKHG_nSwlQpzSeQNZidoQMuqXnpMvGfBdCoZXPLP7cHjpnf9NqA7MeiPKmXvEOKaXPdtc5y6hfua7s8JrXD0eJy4kRK1pT9i_728MmUyWI9yqjfLiGNRq8JxEsmF_W67_N/s640/marypeacock2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Getting Closer but still a ways to go. When I'd break from stitching, you could find me quilting.<br />
A sweet little table square.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBiwHq2he7ilXJC_Zjn1ZBfDp7SnKiNcMnUoBkMpdkMLxfy6uKyOEzjCv5z2iYT_b1hntIrHt9D4TsYuYGXuv2n6EOy6YHTyHnGJGHPgAOaHytOvMjE3MdsEdE3H66jbq_esGB0OWn7cGU/s1600/quiltedtablesquare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="528" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBiwHq2he7ilXJC_Zjn1ZBfDp7SnKiNcMnUoBkMpdkMLxfy6uKyOEzjCv5z2iYT_b1hntIrHt9D4TsYuYGXuv2n6EOy6YHTyHnGJGHPgAOaHytOvMjE3MdsEdE3H66jbq_esGB0OWn7cGU/s640/quiltedtablesquare.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I also made a lifestyle change...I am now Vegan. That was the most significant change of all and the best thing I could have done for my health going forward. Still have some annoying sinus issues though.<br />
<br />
So here we are at the end of the year. The creek is icy and the winterberry bushes are full.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The cold wind blows...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOlKHZ_SX9oKrNJDYFIdX4W_FsHpkXz79LBKA7rma2RYOz1dbCucvXP4ogPSVHNQC4DJvct5IGxr3xwlWhNNUUb-aWQMIuEMuZctlIoAJV7gocvcA8Q3JPo5N90g89hZDrCh3LitNg61EV/s1600/coldwindblows1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOlKHZ_SX9oKrNJDYFIdX4W_FsHpkXz79LBKA7rma2RYOz1dbCucvXP4ogPSVHNQC4DJvct5IGxr3xwlWhNNUUb-aWQMIuEMuZctlIoAJV7gocvcA8Q3JPo5N90g89hZDrCh3LitNg61EV/s640/coldwindblows1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Time to weave. The looms will be making their rhythmic sounds again as I weave scarves, towels, and such. Feels good. This is a "blue jean" coloured scarf for Krista.<br />

There were many things going on last year that got in the way of blogging and I seriously considered not blogging ever again. But I really do enjoy blogging and visiting all the various blogs of creative and talented people. You all inspire me. So In 2013 I will keep my camera handy and look forward to sharing the creative side of me here at Thistle Creek Cottage.</div>

Remnants of autumn still visible. Taking a moment to reflect, think about what I'd like for the new year to bring...Joy.<br />

I've been absent from blogland for quite some time. Lots going on...Although I've not posted, I've kept my camera busy. In the new year I'll update this old blog of mine with a brief pictorial of my 2012 projects. But for now, here's wishing a happy new year to all.<br />

I still have my net book so I will be visiting your blogs and being inspired by all the wonderful things you do.<br />

The weather here was chilly, wet, windy, and cloudy...Sigh! Don't get me wrong, I'm one of those people who actually like the rain, a gentle rain that is. The kind of rain that makes you want to curl up with a good book, or work on some needlework, or put on a delicious pot of soup. This weekend, I indulged in at least one of the above. I'm reading a book entitled <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Killer-Crop-An-Orchard-Mystery/dp/0425238261/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1335206359&sr=1-4#_">A Killer Crop</a> an orchard mystery series by Sheila Connolly. This is the fourth book in the series and I've really enjoyed the first three. I enjoy reading tea mysteries, needle work mysteries, and my favorite Susan Wittig Albert, herb mysteries, but an orchard mystery...really? I was pleasantly surprised. When I picked up the first book and found myself looking forward to the second, I knew I would add this author to my list of favorites. If you like mysteries and are looking to add to your lite reading, take a look at the orchard series.<br />
<br />
While we're reading, we must have tea.<br />

I love quilted table covers. I made this one three years ago and it remains a favorite. The embroidered napkins were gifted to me and were a thrift find. The teapot is from Home Goods and goes great with the shelley teacup and saucer. The tea today is a simple green.<br />

My grandmother did the same, and I'm sure her mother had the same kitchen ritual...Aprons were a common piece of clothing during these times. I wear aprons, but not everyday. When I do put one on, it always makes me feel good in a feminine, comforting sort of way...Hard to explain. Each time I put on an apron I ask myself why I don't wear them more often. I enjoy cooking and baking so it's not for lack of time in my kitchen. I think it's because the aprons that I choose are more pretty than they are utilitarian. Like this new one I purchased a couple of weeks ago.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
I love the colour, the embroidery, and the cotton lace trim. How could I not purchase this?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Webster defines an apron as a garment used to protect clothing or adorn a costume. This one is destined to protect and adorn my summer wear which is usually leggings or crop pants with summer knit tees.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If you'd like to read about all things apron, there's a periodical called Apron-ology by <a href="http://stampington.com/apronology/2012/apr_vol4.html">Stampington</a> that will surely inspire you to give the apron another look or bring out your stash of aprons and start enjoying them.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In honour of days gone by, here's a poem that speaks of the apron performing it's most recognizable and memorable duties.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Grandma's Apron"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I used to visit Grandma, I was very much impressed,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
by her all-purpose apron, and the power it possessed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For Grandma, it was everyday to choose one when she dressed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The strings were tied and freshly washed and maybe even pressed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The simple apron that it was, you would never think about;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the things she used it for, that made it look worn out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She used it for a hot pad, to remove a steaming pan,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and when her brow was heated, she used it as a fan.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It dried our childish tears, when we'd scrape a knee and cry,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and made a hiding place when the little ones were shy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Farm produce took in season, in the summer, spring, and fall,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
found its way into the kitchen from Grandma's carry all.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When Grandma went to heaven, God said she now could rest.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm sure the apron she chose that day, was her Sunday Best.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(author unkown)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thanks for visiting...Until next time, have a blessed and happy day.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

I also gravitate toward the rose, second choice would be peony, and my third choice is the hydrangea. I choose these as my "go to" flowers when decorating because these flowers tend to be the ones that are not only pretty when they're fresh, but also when created in silk. They also dry beautifully.<br />
<br />
I was enjoying a cup of tea one morning and as I looked around, I began to notice all the various forms of roses that I have in this one room. I guess I never really thought about it before but I realize how key roses are to making this room feel the way that I want. Pick up your cup of tea and take a stroll around the room with me.<br />

I finally found one this past weekend and I am just thrilled with it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiADC31g34iYi1PGv9z12S1aEMiY8yCJfKk_5u9KymS6CcDRBcEV1BspwLKJ4e9dCRFs9uWEh-43VnyJu-zvVWnytkaMa3XOAMfGZvgRWHo5ywUFL3rMdRSpLFrOD4nV_qeiw5nmWKYHuar/s1600/chippytable1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="468" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiADC31g34iYi1PGv9z12S1aEMiY8yCJfKk_5u9KymS6CcDRBcEV1BspwLKJ4e9dCRFs9uWEh-43VnyJu-zvVWnytkaMa3XOAMfGZvgRWHo5ywUFL3rMdRSpLFrOD4nV_qeiw5nmWKYHuar/s640/chippytable1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
It looks great in this room. It's taller than the accent table that I originally had in this corner, it's the perfect height for sitting and enjoying tea. (By the way, isn't that a great frame? I haven't decided what I want to do with it yet.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOFJOmvOLZZ6ckS_OvzLG1Dh0Q10IGNYz5eBWMJiqss7Ybt21RLDSEO552X4w9NJZeG3-cjbm2VhTJkizeJjopQamloxFdnFi4dBrmKWQ6gaolByC5amVljvgRMOcLhGeHGqRwEPkwibh-/s1600/teatable1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOFJOmvOLZZ6ckS_OvzLG1Dh0Q10IGNYz5eBWMJiqss7Ybt21RLDSEO552X4w9NJZeG3-cjbm2VhTJkizeJjopQamloxFdnFi4dBrmKWQ6gaolByC5amVljvgRMOcLhGeHGqRwEPkwibh-/s640/teatable1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
This table is also much wider than the other table, it accomodates any of my tea sets so I no longer have to set the teapot on a seperate table. It's a relaxing day and I'm totally enjoying my tea this afternoon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilBJDScPv5zb6RTmWSP2gjlMc6lViDQ-F2IWCLlcnwRfbtKHdR2Y5sgOBES2GxcHjFVnGQNzIjRB4ASmf1XiUZXIRWrVkb4xykndDURkgbnMQJFWsWm9eAhivwtLJGa8uYb4EryUusOa_K/s1600/tea1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="454" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilBJDScPv5zb6RTmWSP2gjlMc6lViDQ-F2IWCLlcnwRfbtKHdR2Y5sgOBES2GxcHjFVnGQNzIjRB4ASmf1XiUZXIRWrVkb4xykndDURkgbnMQJFWsWm9eAhivwtLJGa8uYb4EryUusOa_K/s640/tea1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I just love the chippy paint and the raised lip scalloped edge. This was such a great find.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpwJodpnt8kcTCU1W70PSuYKJyQDPjT_AYR8DKpkUODHcpuo8f1PBmn17Fms6OOqMbYtVuChgsaZNczlgT7d3bU11lQrpmpIvgCv_HRIRGiHUbiKRWej5jioAUntvUmLyF-yppgWJHt0nc/s1600/teatable3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="564" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpwJodpnt8kcTCU1W70PSuYKJyQDPjT_AYR8DKpkUODHcpuo8f1PBmn17Fms6OOqMbYtVuChgsaZNczlgT7d3bU11lQrpmpIvgCv_HRIRGiHUbiKRWej5jioAUntvUmLyF-yppgWJHt0nc/s640/teatable3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I also found this wonderful coffee table, it had to come home with me. Both tables are solid, sturdy and exactly what I've been looking for and I got them both for $60. I might distress the coffee table a little more ( I love the chippy look) but for now, no work, just pure tea enjoyment.<br />
<br />
Glad you stopped by to visit. Come back soon.<br />

It's all dressed up and ready for Sunday's Easter celebration.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBhZHdeGXlUAYjJPmS2MysU3oNi2MLiuczG26D-2QhNAaXGbYWbHGWGB3KtwP9d1ehInt-Auybx7v5tysgabi-PaOkg4eDs1_S26XEmtC7aia-wToo7kfdr7VBAnBUjxyRUZRb9DwhXS3C/s1600/eastertable1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBhZHdeGXlUAYjJPmS2MysU3oNi2MLiuczG26D-2QhNAaXGbYWbHGWGB3KtwP9d1ehInt-Auybx7v5tysgabi-PaOkg4eDs1_S26XEmtC7aia-wToo7kfdr7VBAnBUjxyRUZRb9DwhXS3C/s640/eastertable1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It will be just the four of us so I decided to keep it light and casual rather than setting a more formal setting in the dining room.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuOv9Ii7XNgzrvOy-skPKFmfPuRqW2UxPZPodYS79uWESWF1xjWprozkMb2qDjNcVAyTxQydffam_ygu0KZWUskhFCfM1kKBxmrDUbrwKfIts1-RaCtr-oNEWKdoeQCeodFjxJNWo5o3ZR/s1600/eastertable4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuOv9Ii7XNgzrvOy-skPKFmfPuRqW2UxPZPodYS79uWESWF1xjWprozkMb2qDjNcVAyTxQydffam_ygu0KZWUskhFCfM1kKBxmrDUbrwKfIts1-RaCtr-oNEWKdoeQCeodFjxJNWo5o3ZR/s640/eastertable4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I paired the new with the old. Lennox Opal Innocence Carved and Spode's Billingsley Rose. They both are heavily textured which gives that pretty lacey look that I love.<br />

I chose Laura Ashley's Hazelbury for our tea today. The pattern is bright and cheery and perfect for our mom and daughter afternoon tea. The Lily teapot is a favorite. I have tried to find the cup and saucer to go with it but so far no luck.</div>

I couldn't resist these lemon tea cookies. the box is so pretty with its golden yellow ribbon and sweet little flower. I placed a little Easter tree ornament on the top that looks like it was made for it. I had planned to have some with our tea but then I remembered a new recipe that I had gotten from <a href="http://cuppatea4sheri.blogspot.com/">Sheri's blog</a>. It's a recipe for a mini lemon pound cake. This was a perfect opportunity to try it. I love lemon and this cake turned out to be the perfect complement to our tea. It's a lighter version of a traditional lemon pound cake and it's very flavorful. The tart lemon glaze that's brushed over the top enhances the tangy lemony goodness.<br />

If you've followed me for a while you know that this room is decorated in a slightly primitive style using the colours of the woodlands -- browns, blacks, and distressed patinas. It's so easy to decorate this room in the Fall, not so much in springtime. Never-the-less, I had to change things out so I began with my favorite area in the room, my old antique trunk.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH8TOACrvt8SMzlhKmajtgpUodHWjtvmhwAspHyUmlgoPNq_lGMpPCBAuHHRifMHhOfzf72LZnuC-Ky-Hu2iOKNtcom04u3zlDnXsRZJUbEsCthawKl0CMbOuCTk9KQsKmqQ8UTq3VsPkg/s1600/primclock1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH8TOACrvt8SMzlhKmajtgpUodHWjtvmhwAspHyUmlgoPNq_lGMpPCBAuHHRifMHhOfzf72LZnuC-Ky-Hu2iOKNtcom04u3zlDnXsRZJUbEsCthawKl0CMbOuCTk9KQsKmqQ8UTq3VsPkg/s640/primclock1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I placed on top of it a few of my favorite things...Lace, old dried roses in a watering can, a little birdie, and my favorite prim clock.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibiyPGGRxaZPuuRzQ5XipOur5TAyv7FpEVJmBlZr4U0lzwtsJ_m_06SWWitz2aVgvVlWE23v50rw-Ce1GsBAQrXp9wZN8XLPDF_KHWMav4Md4EelyjyKzyxCGCBb0c73Pfi6M1ZmRkylHw/s1600/primclock2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibiyPGGRxaZPuuRzQ5XipOur5TAyv7FpEVJmBlZr4U0lzwtsJ_m_06SWWitz2aVgvVlWE23v50rw-Ce1GsBAQrXp9wZN8XLPDF_KHWMav4Md4EelyjyKzyxCGCBb0c73Pfi6M1ZmRkylHw/s640/primclock2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I love embroidered linens and clothing, especially when the embroidery adorns a dress worn by my favorite prim doll.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDJFQRhMJvrj64YVGSCs1dA-DxxMMdU-yTLX8J7AldE0pN_K9g21gReewRovYbWk-JXApCTmSe2ZAOT9RUonMb1UiehWirb-ebufEY6p9DfbXcFNUK6-EB3FYXunKBqVUZfNFz-bEMiVQ-/s1600/primdoll2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="468" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDJFQRhMJvrj64YVGSCs1dA-DxxMMdU-yTLX8J7AldE0pN_K9g21gReewRovYbWk-JXApCTmSe2ZAOT9RUonMb1UiehWirb-ebufEY6p9DfbXcFNUK6-EB3FYXunKBqVUZfNFz-bEMiVQ-/s640/primdoll2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
She completes the look don't you think? This photo was taken in the evening, it looks a lot brighter when flooded with afternoon sunshine. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. I have a few more things to change in this room and then it's on to the living room.<br />
<br />
I'm glad you stopped by...Have a great week.<br />

I'm stitching up a table square from a pattern and fabric that I'd purchased a couple of years ago from <a href="http://fatquartershop.com/">The Fatquarter Shop</a>. One of my resolutions this year is to stop adding to my fabric and pattern stash and actually make projects from the patterns I already have. Since this one has been on my '"to do" list for a while, I decided to get it done.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF2yq7kY0Q-cUDsdA_HGqUZ8Pi0Jl098aM4lTEOh1DguWFbYEiN5UjGX5NYvCjMBIa6Zl_pRsoJ6zWFLOtnVO_kwIqqo_X18BCLIm1cfWpBJ3RT44pxsL1669O4ehK79O1ezTheH_jV-ob/s1600/strawberrytablesquare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="494" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF2yq7kY0Q-cUDsdA_HGqUZ8Pi0Jl098aM4lTEOh1DguWFbYEiN5UjGX5NYvCjMBIa6Zl_pRsoJ6zWFLOtnVO_kwIqqo_X18BCLIm1cfWpBJ3RT44pxsL1669O4ehK79O1ezTheH_jV-ob/s640/strawberrytablesquare.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The fabric on the bottom will be the center of the square. I've already cut it to size so it's ready to go. Thank goodness for the <a href="http://accuquilt.com/">Accuquilt Go Cutter</a> which enabled me to cut the 112 1.5 inch squares needed for the flying geese border in about 5 minutes. The 5 inch charm squares will be pieced together to make the outer border. I used my <a href="http://sizzix.com/">Sizzix Eclips</a> to cut the strawberry applique rather than use the one from the pattern because I wanted a different leaf shape and a slightly larger strawberry. Hopefully I'll have the finished topper to share next week. By the way, my sewing machine has been quiet for a while, feels good to be sewing again.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by...Happy Sunday!<br />

Makes me smile and warms my heart.<br />
<br />

<br />
I also am a big fan of birdhouses and this one has quickly become a favorite. I purchased it last week while on a trip to New York (Yea, I know, even in such a fashion mecca, I come away with a birdhouse) it looks like Mr. bunny has taken a few blossoms from that birdhouse to share with you :-)<br />
<br />
Here's another favorite, standing amongst the yellow roses in all her glittery goodness.<br />
<br />

Bunnies and roses are springtime favorites. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIynzzdY97g7cPLpvY4T9RwjpY30AEZt-jkt7bCEx0GL_tGssTblt_yiV1LHwLM8pjUWtJLLOcLNqOowiUz6Vn82Ooki38qRQRE6mMGYrZSKDgVpwbujFz3_mJkliWjI6T2sjAuzR_RhEU/s1600/rosebunny1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="598" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIynzzdY97g7cPLpvY4T9RwjpY30AEZt-jkt7bCEx0GL_tGssTblt_yiV1LHwLM8pjUWtJLLOcLNqOowiUz6Vn82Ooki38qRQRE6mMGYrZSKDgVpwbujFz3_mJkliWjI6T2sjAuzR_RhEU/s640/rosebunny1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I do a fair bit of cross stitching and most of my pieces are framed. Every now and then I get in the mood to stitch a small accessory. This one is a sweet strawberries and bunnies design finished as a decorative cube with ribbon, tatting, and fabric. Nice to display with a centerpiece or an arrangement on the cupboard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYJUcIQxTwDxp5Ir0hihHZ_sOKmAPCZhme9s-nhm8u_GfiBquscxfvCW5nUS5PBgMvnxKZYIAnna7mkPvPN8An3lMoU4w7jNROsKjTPvoM7bGjY7w5lrlzlR5PILKyfaOPfBemlmM6bbD1/s1600/strawberrycube.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="506" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYJUcIQxTwDxp5Ir0hihHZ_sOKmAPCZhme9s-nhm8u_GfiBquscxfvCW5nUS5PBgMvnxKZYIAnna7mkPvPN8An3lMoU4w7jNROsKjTPvoM7bGjY7w5lrlzlR5PILKyfaOPfBemlmM6bbD1/s640/strawberrycube.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
White ironstone, stitchery, hand embroidered flour sack towels...Tis Spring!<br />
<br />
In celebration, I put together this garden scene centerpiece for my living room table<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgEOGqHYWNsoTPTNCcrhniW_-5xO-hbJKNGk4wZOPsfI-0oYHKrBXbP2idsB7YrlqtAFgIalWe24fzdIc3zL88fySR49fuHfzoMEsFQqlGmtl-reha72qC6xZ6Z6FN4QY69I44DcV5RLTl/s1600/bird2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgEOGqHYWNsoTPTNCcrhniW_-5xO-hbJKNGk4wZOPsfI-0oYHKrBXbP2idsB7YrlqtAFgIalWe24fzdIc3zL88fySR49fuHfzoMEsFQqlGmtl-reha72qC6xZ6Z6FN4QY69I44DcV5RLTl/s640/bird2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />

I used my die cutting machine to make the hang tag. I had no particular plans for the tag but as I worked on this centerpiece, it made the perfect accent for my arrangement. I love it when things just naturally come together.<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed your visit today...How are you feathering your nest for Spring?<br />

Spring is in the air!<br />
<br />
Time for me to brighten things up around here. Think I'll start with the breakfast area.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcFHoEw33C_5-KhDojiDONoumCUBkI_nowqB2RQiwBrwDvdd_9p0ENHG8FvcSXZLmQNpM5FPGWMOXATeNklDRJL8CqsLZQTXQ6V3nBR6irJhD7rDjzbDDcMQ1UNyACGls7hD5WO0CEFpo0/s1600/springdecor1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcFHoEw33C_5-KhDojiDONoumCUBkI_nowqB2RQiwBrwDvdd_9p0ENHG8FvcSXZLmQNpM5FPGWMOXATeNklDRJL8CqsLZQTXQ6V3nBR6irJhD7rDjzbDDcMQ1UNyACGls7hD5WO0CEFpo0/s640/springdecor1.jpg" width="616" yda="true" /></a></div><br />

<br />
Now to brighten up the cupboard.<br />
<br />

I chose Nikko's Blue Peony. Such a sweet pattern with it's blue and yellow flowers and pale blue dots.<br />
<br />
Now that I've taken care of those two areas, I think I'll set a table just for me and my tea. I'm not being selfish, it will be my treat after getting everyone out of the door in the morning. My time to sit for a minute before my day starts in earnest. Remember, you don't have to wait for company to enjoy your dishes.<br />
