Summer at Thistle Creek

I must admit that Summer is not my favorite season, Autumn wins that title, but there are many joys that only Summer can bring.

The juicy goodness of  a trio of fresh berries.  (After taking the picture, I added a dollup of organic peach yogurt and savoured the moment.)

Setting the table with reds -- roses, cherries, and plaids...

white -- vintage ironstone...

and blue -- cobalt blue stemware and flatware and a little yellow crochet doily for a sweet country  cottage accent...I'm ready for a 4th of July lunch.

Right outside my kitchen window a favorite flower thrives and begins its colour show.

Summer is here but it goes by quickly so do take time to enjoy those lazy summer afternoons when the days are long and the fireflys sparkle in the night.  Take a little longer to finish your lemonade, your iced tea, your mint julep...It's Summertime.

Thanks for visiting with me today...I'm glad you stopped by.

Your berries look so yummy. I would like some whip cream or ice cream on top please. I like the table setting which would work very nicely with the weekend. The fireworks are going off in the neighborhood. Have a great week. Your Missouri Friend.

A mix of fresh berries at least once a day is definitely one of my favorite parts of summertime. You hit the mark with this one! The dinnerware with a mix of florals and checks is darling!....and the tablecloth should be on my table....you'll see why in a moment. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

What an adorable table you have set...both tablecloth and plates. Very sweet..and I am sure thats how your berries tasted also. Yogurt would be delish with the fruit.
thank you for sharing...
I am wondering whether you are in a really hot part of the country and thus prefer the fall.
Here...summer all the way.

I have these sweet dishes, too - and I just love them. I love the simplicity of your table setting. It appeals to me very much. And, since cobalt blue is a favorite of mine, I will be looking out for cobalt flatware and glasses. Love it!
