Winter is Blue and White!

Happy New Year!  Many blessing to everyone.  I'm stopping in for a quick post to wish everyone well and to show you how I'm greeting these cold days of winter.

I spent today packing away all of the holiday decorations and thinking about how I should change the decor of my sun/tea room.  I decided on blue and white for winter so over the next few days, I will be happily adding blue and white accents to this room.  Here's a little peek at what I've done thus far.

As you can see, I've yet to take down the sweet little pine and berry garland, kinda hate to see it go. The Blue Onion teapot is one of my favorite miniature teapots.  It goes perfectly with the blue and white lace runner.  The alabaster vase is filled with hydrangeas from my garden.  The blue hydrangea is a Nikko Blue, it was a slightly deeper blue when I cut it but after it dried, it took on that faded blue colour that I love.  I don't remember the name of the cream coloured one.  I also added a few silk roses to fill in.  Lastly, there's a little blue bird peering over at the snowmen.  She knows that one day they will go away and spring will be near.  Until then, they will remind us that it is indeed winter, and they'll keep watch as we sit and enjoy our afternoon tea.

Have a great week everyone, thanks for stopping by...Keep warm!

Happy New Year Vee, Other then the cold and wind our winter has been really different this year. We have even sneaked in a few days of 60 degrees, but the wind has been strong. I have enjoyed reading your blog tonight after taking a nap in the chair. I was actually working on a table runner for Easter. I must have needed it or I wouldn't have done it. I like the new blue and white look. Have a wonderful 2012. Take care Your Missouri Friend.

Happy New Year, Vee! I am still in the midst of clearing away the Christmas decor and redecorating each room - or should I say re-accessorizing? Love your start - blue and white is a very serene color combination and just perfect for these winter months. Thank you for sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
God Bless,
Kathy

I think you should leave your pine and berry garland up for winter. Earlier today I was talking to one of my daughters who has something similar and she's going to leave hers up until spring arrives - why not?
Your little tea venue looks very charming.
