Milk Glass and Sweet Embroideries

Before I share with you one of my favorite milk glass tea sets, allow me to indulge you for a moment and show the pretty ranunculus that I picked up at my local market.

so sweet in the pressed glass vase and the perfect opportunity to bring out a vintage embroidered table runner.  I adore embroidered linens and these cross-stitch napkins are especially nice with the milk glass tea set.

This inspired me to spend a little time at my sewing machine today.  I created a sweet little embroidered tea towel.

I chose a very delicate design which shows in stark contrast to the more heavily embroidered vintage table runner.

I chose flour sack cloth for the embroidery.  Although it's new, it has a vintage quality to it dont you think?  The less than perfect nature of the cotton lends itself well to delicate stitcheries.

Since I'm particularly fond of this tea set, I keep it displayed on my kitchen shelf along with a milk glass bud vase, two porcelain candle holders, and a blue and taupe set of  embroidered tea linens.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I'm happy you stopped by and I hope you come again soon.

I am linking this post to Tea-time Tuesday , Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday, and A Return to Loveliness.  Many beautiful things to enjoy.

I like your pretty embroidery. Of course it is something that I love to do. I like the flowers and wish we would have some more Spring weather instead of the cold, warm, back to cold again. Have a wonderful weekend. Your Missouri Friend.

Hi Vee
The golden ranunculus looks very pretty in the blue vase.
As a person that appreciates linens, I admire the tea towel you made. Yes, it does look vintage.

Wow..this is just a beautiful tea post! I'm so glad you signed up to follow my blog. Yours is just lovely! I do hope you will link up with my tea party though it isn't so pretty as yours. I usually do better photos of tea sets than this week. But of course, I'm still recovering from my cold. :o)

I ADORE your embroidered tea towels! I love the cotten texture. You did a lovely job. :o)

Weaving too? I've never met anyone who weaves. I taught myself to make a homemade loom and to weave in order to teach myself how to tie Persian knotted rugs. (I've only done about 4 square inches or so. Ha!)

You sound like a woman after my own heart!
