How was your weekend? The weather here was chilly, wet, windy, and cloudy...Sigh! Don't get me wrong, I'm one of those people who actually like the rain, a gentle rain that is. The kind of rain that makes you want to curl up with a good book, or work on some needlework, or put on a delicious pot of soup. This weekend, I indulged in at least one of the above. I'm reading a book entitled A Killer Crop an orchard mystery series by Sheila Connolly. This is the fourth book in the series and I've really enjoyed the first three. I enjoy reading tea mysteries, needle work mysteries, and my favorite Susan Wittig Albert, herb mysteries, but an orchard mystery...really? I was pleasantly surprised. When I picked up the first book and found myself looking forward to the second, I knew I would add this author to my list of favorites. If you like mysteries and are looking to add to your lite reading, take a look at the orchard series.
While we're reading, we must have tea.
I love quilted table covers. I made this one three years ago and it remains a favorite. The embroidered napkins were gifted to me and were a thrift find. The teapot is from Home Goods and goes great with the shelley teacup and saucer. The tea today is a simple green.
Hope you enjoyed your tea time with me today. Until next time. Blessings to you.

I couldn't take my eyes from those beautiful teacups. Lovely post!
I'm in love with the beautiful quilt you made...so gorgeous with those pretty, delicate teacups!!
not much better than an escape into a good cozy mystery and a wonderful cup of tea in a pretty cup. Gorgeous blog here! Take care and happy tea week!
Hi Vee, The tea cups are so beautiful. Such a pretty shape and the delicate floral pattern...love them. I enjoyed your post. Well photographed, elegant, pretty. I like to read too and I may have tea when I read...depends upon the time of day.

A beautiful tea and I love the colors of your teapot.

Love your tea time setting. I agree reading and tea go hand in hand. Thanks for the book tip and for stopping by. I'm your newest follower, hope you will stop back by and visit us, Laura
PS Love the yellow apron!
My weekend was filled with snow and rough weather. perfect to sit inside and drink tea and read the book. Very cute teacups. I like blue ear cup. And the sweet blue flowers in the decor. I wish you a great week! Zinnia
Your teapot and teacups are pretty spring colours and I like the idea of the quilt for a tablecloth.
I'll have to look for this series, I've been reading Laura Childs tea mystery books and enjoy them.
I don't know where to start! Such a lovely tea post. Books and tea -- two of my favorite things. Your quilted table cover is just lovely as are the embroidered napkins (embroidery another of my favorite things). The Shelley teacups are so dainty and I love the shape. the light aqua color (also a favorite) of the cups and your teapot complete a perfect scene. Thanks for the book suggestion. I like cozy mysteries, too! Happy Tea Day!
Hi Vee,
I agree, books and tea are a good combination. Your quilt tablecloth is amazing and the tea cup a treasure. Thank you for this charming tea setting.
Best greetings, Johanna
